Central Scotland’s comedy festival Funny in Falkirk is back for a second summer of laughs this July and August, with even more comedians coming to tickle Falkirk’s funny bone!

The festival kicks off on Friday 22nd July and runs until Tuesday 2nd August, with over 50 shows taking place in venues across Falkirk, Grangemouth, Stenhousemuir, Bo’ness, Bonnybridge and Denny.

The full programme is on sale now and features top stand-up and sketch comedy from international stars and home-grown Scottish talent, plus children’s shows and a special selection of comedy films at the Hippodrome cinema in Bo’ness and Falkirk Cineworld.

The line-up includes stars of television and radio Stephen K Amos and Stewart Francis, Scottish comedy favourites Elaine C Smith and Fred MacAulay, and laughter legend Frank Carson. Co-writer and star of Frankie Boyle’s Tramadol Nights Tom Stade makes his festival debut, plus Stewart Lee returns for a second year, fresh from filming his critically acclaimed BBC series Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle.

This year the Falkirk Wheel joins the festival as a venue for the first time. Catch star of STV’s The Hour Bruce Devlin as he presents the Funny in Falkirk Comedy Cruise on Friday 23rd and 29th July – Falkirk Wheel boat trip, soft drink and fish and chips included!

Festival organisers have kept ticket prices low for 2011, so comedy fans in Central Scotland pay less for shows than they would in the big cities. Look out for some great deals at 20 Rocks in Falkirk, where you can see two shows for just £8 – that’s half the price of the Edinburgh Fringe. With great value comedy to suit all tastes and ages, Funny in Falkirk is just the ticket for comedy fans across Central Scotland, Edinburgh and Glasgow!

Funny in Falkirk is supported by the Falkirk Business Improvement District (Falkirk BID) and the national events agency EventScotland. The festival is delighted to be joined again by our media partners The Falkirk Herald and Central FM, and our new accommodation partner Premier Inn.
